Elise was born in Bayshore, NY and
raised in Vernon, NJ. Her earliest memory of performing was at age 7, in a production of Annie
at the Playboy Club/Americana, Action Park and the local Sussex County Fair. Her
professional career began at age 13 when she became a second place winner at the StarSearch
competition in Atlantic City for a lip-sync line dance of the DreamGirls. Her
acting troupe had a chance to be on Star Search but was unable to get everyone to
go. She then started her training at the ripe age of 13 at the Weist Barron School of Film
and Television. She had a great response from her teachers and even was recommended by the
school to audition for a feature film, Mr. and Mrs. Bridge, starring Paul Newman
and Joanne Woodward. Needless to say she didn't get the part. In the meantime, she studied
acting in high school, became a member of the NJ Thespian Society and starred in a short
film during her college years for a USC student.
Still disbelieving her destiny... Elise finished her studies at
the University of Rhode Island in French and Communication Studies. Within two years of
graduation, she was already on the top of her game - earning a salary just under
six-figures and opening a NY office for a dot-com along with people who left The
Financial Times. It was around this time when the familiar feeling of stage fright
while pursuing her business leads led her back to her true passion: acting. As the dot-com
era came to an end, she took her savings, went on a month long self-discovery trip to St.
Petersburg, Russia and then came back with the courage to sign up for acting classes
again. A year later, she landed her first theatrical contract, in a Bi-lingual,
Biggs-Rosati production of Cyrano de Bergerac.
Elise is now working regularly both in the Indie world and
commercially. She has two short films hitting the festival market this coming year and a
few of her friends are collaborating on a feature film project. This Jersey girl has been
around NYC long enough to learn one should always pursue their dreams and never quit! |
ONE OF HER FAVORITE QUOTES
FROM ONE OF HER FAVORITE BOOKS, THE ALCHEMIST:
"Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering
itself.
And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams,
because every second of the search is a second's encounter with God and with
eternity." |
